The places I walk, and the life behind the work

Every photograph on this page was taken by Kerisma, on ordinary days, in places she actually goes. Trails in the Fraser Valley. Water on a quiet morning. A folding table at a bookshop.

There are no stock photos here, and nothing staged for a website. If something in these frames looks like a life you would want more of, that is rather the point — it was built one unremarkable walk at a time.

More about Kerisma
Low sun breaking through a line of trees at the edge of an open meadow, long golden light spilling across the grass
Sunrise over the meadow. The kind of morning that is worth getting up for, and the reason she keeps recommending a walk before anything else.

Trails & Water

Where the thinking actually happens

Aldergrove, Belcarra, Cultus Lake, and whichever trail is closest on the day. None of it is dramatic. That is what makes it repeatable.

A wide gravel trail carpeted in fallen red-brown leaves, running between banks of green sword ferns and wet evergreens at Belcarra
Belcarra in the rain. Ferns, wet cedar, and nobody else out.
Cultus Lake seen from a stony shore, forested mountains folding into blue haze on the far side and two paddleboarders on flat water
Cultus Lake on a hot afternoon, from the shade at the edge of the beach.
A narrow gravel path winding uphill into bright spring woods at Aldergrove Regional Park, dandelions along the verge
Aldergrove Regional Park. Her home trail, and the one the website keeps coming back to.
An empty wooden bench on dry grass facing a still green lake, sunbeams slanting down over the forested slope beyond
A bench, a lake, and no particular reason to hurry off it.
Still blue water glimpsed through a screen of young birch and fir trunks, dandelions scattered through the long grass in the foreground
The water showing itself through the trees, most of the way round the loop.
Looking straight up into a summer canopy, green maple and alder leaves framing an opening of blue sky and cloud
Looking up. Underrated, and free.

Out in the World

The books do not stay on the shelf

A local author signing at Indigo, with Krizzy and the Fireflies in hand and colouring sheets laid out for whoever wandered past. Writing the book is one job. Sitting at the table and talking to people about it is a different one entirely.

Both of them are part of the same work: making it easier for someone to name what they are feeling.

The Quieter Frames

Not everything worth photographing is a view

A room set up before people arrive. A message written in sand. The porch at the back of an ordinary afternoon.

Books out, coffee on, chairs still empty. The ten minutes before a room fills up.
The words I am worth it written by hand into wet beach sand, surrounded by footprints
“I am worth it”, written in the sand. Sometimes you have to put it somewhere you can see it.
A rainbow coming down into grey ocean water under a heavy overcast sky, an old weathered log along the shoreline in the foreground
A rainbow over the water at Gibsons, on a grey day that had given no sign of it.
Kerisma Vere seated in a wicker chair on a shaded balcony, hands folded, tall cedars filling the view behind her
On the balcony at home, with the cedars doing most of the talking.

None of this needed a perfect start

It needed a trail close enough to get to, and a reason to keep going back. If you want help finding yours, the first conversation costs nothing.

“Kerisma’s approach is perfect for anyone wanting to slow down, reflect, heal, and grow. Her insights, humour, and encouragement are straightforward — but don’t let that fool you, it packs a powerful impact for the long game.”
